Using SquareSpace

I am loving the latest capabilities of cloud based web design and hosting.  There are a lot of providers out there, Wix, Weebly, SquareSpace and a host of others.  I have found SquareSpace to be the most intuitive and powerful of all the sites currently available.  Here is an example of a web site I constructed using SquareSpace.  Clean, simple, design that even a non-coder like me can handle.

Blackmagic is coming soon, can’t wait

I have been following the roll out of the new Blackmagic Cinema Camera since its debut earlier this year.  The video really shows you the dynamic range this camera has.  Follow their instructions and download the highest quality you can and watch.  AMAZING!  Have to have to get my hands on one, hopefully permanently.

Using the story of the Three Bears to teach workshops.

I have been teaching workshops and classes for years.  Every class is different and for a short workshop or long class, I always evoke the story of the Three Bears.   We all know the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.  Well, she represents the students and guess who represents the bears?  That would be me, I’m all three.  Depending on the class, the flow of the workshop, I have to play Little Bear, Momma Bear or Daddy Bear.  I know this sounds ridiculous but every teacher has to do it.  You have to perform and even if you’ve done this a hundred times, you have to flow with the show.  Giving a good workshop, means you can adapt quickly.  If you don’t, Goldilocks gets frustrated.  “This bowl of porridge is too hot, this one is too cool, this one is just right.”  Make the lesson too fast and you get frustration, too slow impatience.  It is a constant adjustment to accommodate the needs of the students.
