Scott Kecken is an award-winning filmmaker, writer, director, producer through his company The Film Foundry. Scott directed during the last season of the critically acclaimed show, “The Wire” on HBO and recently premiered his commercial debut with the Los Angeles fashion company Rad Human.
His debut short Louisville, starring Emmy Award winner Andre Braugher, screened at over 30 festivals and won 11 awards including Best Short at the New York Independent International Film Festival, and aired on BET, PBS, Aspire and Showtime. As director and producer on Woman Hollering Creek, starring Larry Gilliard Jr., his work screened at multiple festivals, won Best Maryland Film at the Annapolis Film Festival and screened on PBS. Scott’s debut feature documentary We Are Arabbers, was funded by major grants from the Maryland State Arts Council and Maryland Humanities Council to document the African American folk culture of the remaining horse-and-wagon produce hucksters in Baltimore.
Through the roots of his visual anthropologist lens, Scott develops diverse, socially redeeming narratives and documentaries.
